Things
Neil Finn
You stand around, scream and shout
For your pleasure
You hand me round all your friends
Makes them happy
And you ask me what it’s all for
It’s as simple as the ABC law
What the hell you asking me for
‘Cause everything I do I do for you
We’ll entertain, every night
Where’s the party
Ask me to sing, pass the drinks
Where’s the money
And you ask me what it’s all for
It’s as simple as the ABC law
What the hell you asking me for
‘Cause everything I do I do for you, you, you
Everything I do I do for you, you, you
We’ll entertain, every night
Where’s the party
Ask me to sing, pass the drinks
Where’s the money
And you ask me what it’s all for
It’s as simple as the ABC law
What the hell you asking me for
‘Cause everything I do I do for you
‘Cause everything I do I do for you
Everything I, everything I, everything I do I do for you
“It was a pretty crappy recording, really. It was a blatant attempt to do a single. I didn’t write it like that - I was writing very simple songs just by virtue of that fact that I was young and new to it. But we definitely were looking for a single that would be successful. As such, it was a probably a failed recording, because it wasn’t successful and it wasn’t a good recording.”
