“It’s unusual because we’d never really had the time or the money available to do strings properly. We were able to get an incredibly good 22-piece string section and so it was just pure delight for us. I was able to sit in the studio and hear a really good string section playing something Tim and I had written together. It knocked us out.”

That sort of thing happening made us think we should go on doing it forever, meaning it was a good idea for me to join Crowded House. It as a bit of an over-reaction as it turned out.”
